Chennai City FC play host to DSK Shivajians in the 12th round of the Hero I-League as the fixture presents itself as three crucial points on offering for two sides who have been enduring not much in terms of success.

Chennai City FC have been finding life hard going in their first I League campaign as they find themselves bottom of the pile heading into this fixture. A run of three home fixtures begins todayb as they take on the team from Pune in a bid to reverse their recent poor run of form. The fact that only two points separate them from DSK Shivajians offers even more incentive to the home side as they can leapfrog the Stallions if they pick up a win today. Their last two games in the league have not been very encouraging with defeats against Shillong Lajong FC and Aizawl FC. The majorproblem has been the misfiring attack up front with service being lacked in the final third. Charles de Souza has had various partners with him up front and even then, there has not been much life there.

Head Coach V.Soundararajan might turn to all of his foreign recruits in this match as he looks to find the right combination to bolster his side’s attacking prowess. DSK Shivajians meanwhile have been finding themselves in a spot of bother as they were on the end of a 3-0 reverse last time against Churchill Brothers. The fact that they are playing their fifth game running on road does not offer respite as they must do all they can to ensure that they avoid defeat. They can however point to the 2-0 win they enjoyed over Chennai City FC the last time these two teams played at their home.

Dave Rogers, the English Head Coach of DSK, will be hoping that his young side can turn the tide and come up with a positive result after Kim Seong-Yong has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a ligament injury. The striker was a key part of the side and Rogers will be hoping that his absence does not prove to be fatal.

Team News:

Chennai City FC:

CCFC might field all their foreigners in an attempt to swing their fortunes for the better. Edwin Vanspaul, a regular started in the left flank, is ruled out for the game along with Raju Yumnam. Midfield general Denson Devadas is also a doubt for the game meaning that Dhanapal Ganesh might be paired with Zakeer in the middle of the pitch for the home side. However Soundararajan can be relieved that there are no suspensions and the rest of the side is available for selection.

DSK Shivajians FC:

Sascha Kolunija and Sumeet Passi join Seong-Yong in the list of absentees for then game as they are all injured. There are no suspensions to contend with and the away side will be hoping that the likes of Juan Quero and Seityasen can fire themselves to a crucial win.
